HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

My printed isn't printing any of my 5x7" images correctly. It is constantly cutting off the image. It prints 4x6" perfectly, but not 5x7". I have tried everything from turning off the printer. trying to put the paper in both the photo and main train, going through all the maintenance options on the printer,  scaling the image down, and firmware and hardware are both updated. At this point I'm wondering if my printer is just defective.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi @cathybara,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with printing issues like that. Since you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, here are a few more things to check.

  • Paper Size Settings: Double-check that the paper size settings in both the printer's settings and the print dialog on your computer are set to 5x7". Sometimes a mismatch can cause the printer to cut off the image.
  • Print Layout Settings: Ensure that the print layout settings are correct. Look for options like "Fit to Page" or "Scaling" in the print dialog and make sure they're set appropriately.
  • Paper Type: Verify that you’re using the correct type of paper for your printer. Some printers have specific settings for different types of photo paper.
  • Printer Alignment: Perform a print head alignment if available. Misalignment can sometimes cause issues with image placement.
  • Margins and Borders: Check if there are any settings related to margins or borders that might be cutting off part of the image.
  • Software Issue: Try printing from a different application or image viewer to rule out software-specific issues.
  • Driver Reinstallation: Sometimes reinstalling or updating the printer driver can resolve such issues. Ensure you're using the latest driver from HP's website.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may indeed be a hardware problem, especially if other sizes work fine.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
