My HP Envy 7858 has a question mark displayed and I cannot get it to go away. I have restarted the printer, unplugged the power, checked for paper jams and changed the ink cartridges. It will print through the feeder and on the glass but will not print from my Android.

My HP envy 5032 has the same problem. It will not print from my IPad or Mac and just shows the question mark.

Hi @dj716,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 7858 is displaying a question mark and you're experiencing issues printing from your Android device, here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Check Printer Status: Ensure that the printer is set as the default printer on your Android device. Go to your device's settings, find the printer settings, and make sure the HP Envy 7858 is selected as the default.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app on your Android device or through the printer's control panel.
  • Reinstall the HP Smart App: Uninstall and then reinstall the HP Smart app on your Android device. This can resolve connectivity issues between your printer and mobile device.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Android device. You can check this on the printer's control panel under network settings. If it's not connected, reconnect it.
  • Print a Wireless Network Test Report: This can help diagnose any network issues. You can usually find this option in the printer's settings.
  • Clear Print Queue: If there are any stuck print jobs, clear the print queue on your Android device by going to the printing options and canceling all print jobs.
  • Reset Network Settings: On the printer, reset the network settings to factory defaults, then reconnect it to your Wi-Fi.

Following these steps should help eliminate the question mark display and restore printing functionality from your Android device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
