HP Envy 5052
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I've been trying to print for the last few days with my HP Envy 5052 from the receptionist position at my place of business. Unfortunately, on all of the invoices, the printer will only print the top line of the document then say "Error - Printing" after a minute or so, then attempt to print the document again. I have to cancel the document from the queue or it will attempt to print continually. I can get the printer to print test pages using the Windows Application, but this error occurs anytime I attempt to print a document online or from Quickbooks.

This is causing us to be unable to print complete invoices and receipts, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and i would like to work.

Are you able to make photocopies?

Let's update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-5000-all-in-one-printer-series/14095644/mod... and check if that helps

If the issue persists, download and run the HP Print And Scan Doctor from this Link: ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Run PSDR v5.0.2

Once the PSDR detects the Printer, it will show up the IP address and Software Status.

Select the correct Printer and click on Next.

PSDR will check if the Printer is on the Network and communication between the PC and the Printer. Once the connection check is done, click on Fix Printing

Once PSDR goes through all checks and automatic fixes, click on Print a test page.

Regardless if PSDR printed the test page or not, click on “NO PRINT”

PSDR will then notify you that there is an update available, click on continue, and PSDR will apply the patch and ask for a reboot.

Post restart the PSDR will run automatically to check for more issue.  If no issue found close PSDR.

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a great day 😊

Thanks for the reply @KrazyToad, but my problems are still occuring after all the steps you listed. The printer does make successful photocopies as well as test prints when I hit the button actually located on the printer (such as the test wireless print). But, after the HP Print and Scan Doctor, the top part of the test print was the only thing printing while the rest was blank and I got the message "Printing error."

This happen both before and after the update & PC reset.

It looks like you were interacting with @KrazyToad, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.

I believe its an issue with the printer driver installed on your PC. Use the method below to remove all existing printer drivers from your PC:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers.

Once the drivers are removed, download and install the printer software and driver available here

Let me know how it goes!
