HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
iOS

All of a sudden and from out of the blue this printer is now stuck at the first dot of the boot up. Tried all the various methods suggested in other threads but still no luck. Any way to hard reset this printer and bring it back to life or is it now a brick?

Please suggest a way to reset this and get this back to work again.

Please help.

Hi @SoumyaCal

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Envy Photo 7855 is stuck on the first dot during boot-up, which can sometimes be resolved with a hard reset. Here’s how you can try resetting it:

Hard Reset Steps

  1. Turn off the printer completely.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds to allow the printer to discharge.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet (avoid using a surge protector).
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  7. Turn the printer back on and check if it boots past the first dot.

Thank you for the reply, I have tried the steps you mentioned and unfortunately it has not yet resolved the problem. Is there anyway to perform a hard reset on the system.

I have the same issue and am stuck. The listed steps did not work. I need the message with the alternative reset.

Thanks for troubleshooting I appreciate all your efforts.

Since the issue persists, seems to be a hardware issue.

Thank you for the DM but the option for support assistance is quite expensive as compared to buying a new unit during any big box sales event. Also, I noticed that it’s quite a common issue and I am genuinely surprised that HP hasn’t come up with a perm software solution for this frequent issue. Ideally a software fix that could factory reset the printer software to a previous build should solve the issue.
