HP Envy Photo 7855
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Envy Photo 7855 printer is stuck during initialization.  When I plug it in, it starts initialization, but freezes on the HP icon, with one bullet filled.  I have followed all the instructions I have found for this issue (unplug, wait, plug in, hold power button) Multiple times.  It also makes me furious that just because my printer is out of warranty, I cannot add the product to my profile.  Can I please get some help with this, so that I can do my work?  I have used this product just a handful of times since I purchased it.  It has been sitting in my office and has suffered no damage.  It should still work. PLEASE GIVE ME INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FIX THIS PRINTER!!!!!

Hi @maz1rude ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration with your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer freezing during startup. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

  • Restart the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait for about 1-2 minutes. Then, plug it back in and try turning on the printer again.
  • Check for Paper Jams: Sometimes, even a small piece of paper stuck inside the printer can cause it to freeze during startup. Open all the access doors and check for any paper jams or debris. If you find any, carefully remove them.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a semi-full reset on the printer. To do this, disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is turned on. Wait for about 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer. This may reset the printer's internal settings and resolve the freezing issue.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest firmware for your printer model.
  • Check Power Source: Ensure that the printer is plugged into a working power outlet and that the power cord is securely connected to both the printer and the outlet.

I hope this helps.
