HP Envy Photo 7855
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

How do I clean the printheads on the HP Envy Photo 7855? I looked under Settings but no "Tools" or "Clean Printheads" to choose from. The printing is streaked and unreadable. I'm tired of wasting ink. I've used HP Print/Scan Dr and it hasn't helped. Thanks for your help.

@djsomers Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the tolls or clean printhead options are not showing.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

Thanks for your information. The steps you gave seem convoluted and there should be an easier way. Why is there not a "Clean Printheads" option (and "Align Cartridges" under "Tools"? That would be the simplest way. Fortunately, I figured out how to solve my issue and eventually found a way to clean the printheads. The problem was a defective ink cartridge and as soon as I inserted a new one, I received the message to clean the printheads and to align the cartridges.
