Hello. I have tried all this suggested remedies I can find, but my printer is still stuck on the HP logo screen. I have unplugged the printer and held the power button for 30 seconds. I have left the printer unplugged for a couple days and there’s no change. Could I get some assistance please?

Hi @Kcbee,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Photo 7864 is stuck on the HP logo screen, you've already tried some good basic troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more advanced solutions to attempt.
Perform a Forced Reset
- Turn off the printer (if it is on).
- Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Disconnect all cables, including USB and Ethernet.
- Press and hold the Power button for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
- Reconnect the power cable only, then power on the printer.
Perform a Semi-Full Reset
A semi-full reset restores the printer to factory settings:
- Power off the printer and unplug it.
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button + Back button (or "Cancel" + "Back" depending on your model).
- While holding the buttons, plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
- Release the buttons once you see the HP logo disappear or a reset message appears.
Update Firmware via USB Recovery Mode
If your printer is stuck, you might be able to recover it by updating the firmware:
- Download the latest firmware update for your printer from HP’s official site on a Windows PC.
- Connect your printer to the PC via USB cable.
- Put the printer into recovery mode:
- Turn off the printer.
- Hold Power + Cancel while turning it on.
- On your PC, run the firmware update tool and follow on-screen instructions.
- If successful, your printer should reboot normally.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
