Hello, I see that there are several posts on the Envy 7858 printer not booting up. I have the same issue and would like to know if the printer is done or if I need to get a new one.

I have tried the steps provided; to drain the power and the hard factory reset, and nothing works. It will not let me get past the 1st dot during start-up.

Have the problem been fixed for anyone? If so, can you advise what was done to fix your issue?

It sounds frustrating to deal with a printer that won’t boot up, especially after trying common troubleshooting steps like power cycling and factory resetting. If your HP Envy Photo 7858 is stuck at the startup stage and none of these methods have worked, here are a few additional steps you might consider.

 

  • Check the Power Supply: Ensure that the power cable and any power adapters are securely connected. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause boot issues.
  • Try a Different Power Outlet: Plug the printer into a different power outlet to rule out the possibility of an issue with the outlet itself.
  • Inspect for Any Visible Damage: Look over the printer for any signs of physical damage, such as cracked components or frayed cables.
  • Firmware Update: If you can access the printer’s menu or connect it to a computer, check if there's a firmware update available. Sometimes updating the firmware can resolve boot issues.
