HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer

My Envy 7855 is stuck at the initialization screen.  Had a power flicker.  Any suggestions on how to get the printer to power up properly?  (The printer is stuck at this screen.  Power button is unresponsive.  I have unplugged/ replugged, etc., all to no avail.)

Hi @T1700_user,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 7855 is stuck at the initialization screen and the power button is unresponsive after a power flicker, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.

  1. Unplug and Replug:

    • Ensure that the printer is unplugged from the power source.
    • Wait for a few minutes to allow any residual power to dissipate.
    • Plug the printer back in and attempt to power it on.
  2. Check Power Source:

    • Ensure that the power outlet is working properly by plugging another device into the same outlet.
    • Try plugging the printer into a different power outlet to eliminate the possibility of an issue with the outlet.
  3. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
    • Disconnect any other cables connected to the printer.
    • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord and other cables.
    • Power on the printer.
  4. Check for Physical Damage:

    • Inspect the power cord and make sure it's not damaged.
    • Examine the printer for any visible signs of damage, especially around the power button area.
  5. Update Firmware (if possible):

    • If the printer has an option for firmware updates, check the HP website for the latest firmware version. Follow the instructions to update the firmware if you can do so.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for the reply.  Unfortunately, none of these solutions helps.  Is there anything else you can suggest that I could try?  Thank you again.
