HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer

We were able to print last week, but cannot print or copy today.  Have completed your troubleshooting steps with no change.  All ink cartridges are over half full.

What other suggestions do you have?

@KTrader, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Error Code 0xc19a0040: Failed Printhead!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The error code 0xc19a0040 generally indicates a problem with the printhead. Since you've already followed troubleshooting steps without resolution and noted that your ink cartridges are more than half full, here are some additional suggestions you can try:

Reset the Printer: Sometimes, power cycling the printer can resolve error messages. Turn off the printer completely, unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, and wait for about 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

Re-seat the Ink Cartridges: Remove all the ink cartridges and then reinsert them, ensuring they are properly seated. Confirm that each cartridge is clicked into place in its correct slot.

Clean the Electrical Contacts: Use a lint-free cloth or cotton swabs dampened with distilled water to gently clean the electrical contacts on the printheads and within the printer carriage. Be careful not to touch the nozzles, as this could cause damage.

Printhead Cleaning: From your printer’s menu, you may find an option to clean the printhead. This function varies slightly depending on your printer model.

Check for Printer Updates: Make sure the printer firmware is up to date. You can usually find updates on the HP support site.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
