I reset my laptop due to other windows update issyes. Now when I select to print a document, the drop-down has HP ENVY 6400 PCL-3 but it says Error - Document waiting. There is nowhere to cancel the job or remove this printer. It is not listed under Devices and Printers however is listed under Device Manager.

I ended up reseting my laptop and reinstalled Windows. I readded the HP ENVY 6400 printer and the my smart printing app. These installed correctly; however, now I am continiously getting a popup to add the HP ENVY 6400 printer, I select to add and says connection failed. But it is already installed and working so why I am getting several popups to add it every minute?!

Try purging the print spooler

 

  1. Click the Windows + R keys
  2. In Run type: services.msc
  3. It will open a window look for Print Spooler, right click and select Stop.
  4. Access the C: \ Windows \ System32 \ Spool \ Printers folder and delete all files.
  5. Right-click Print Spooler again and select Start.
