Hi @Suru0707,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP Deskjet F4180 printer shows an "E" error along with both cartridge lights flashing, it usually indicates an issue related to the cartridges or the print mechanism. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Ink Cartridges
- Open the printer to access the ink cartridges.
- Remove both cartridges from their slots.
- Inspect the cartridges for any visible damage, debris, or ink residue on the copper contacts.
- Clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth and a bit of distilled water. Make sure they are completely dry before reinserting them.
Reinstall the Cartridges
- Reinsert the cartridges carefully into their corresponding slots (black in the right, color in the left).
- Make sure they are properly seated and locked into place.
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in.
- Turn the printer back on to see if the error clears.
Check for Paper Jams
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions in the paper path.
- If you find any, carefully remove them and ensure that the paper feed is clear.
Test with One Cartridge
- Remove one cartridge (either black or color) and close the printer to see if it displays an error.
- Repeat this with the other cartridge to identify if one cartridge is causing the issue.
Replace Cartridges
- If the issue persists, it could be due to faulty cartridges. Try replacing both cartridges with new, genuine HP cartridges.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
