Hi @AM2031,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Ink Tank 315 is having intermittent printing issues with double lines on the page, possibly due to misalignment or a mechanical issue. Since you've already tried cleaning, alignment, changing the USB cable, and updating the firmware, let's go over a few more troubleshooting steps:

Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions:

  • Inspect the paper path and inside the printer for any paper jams, debris, or obstructions that could be causing the printhead to move erratically.

Inspect the Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure the ink tanks are properly seated and that the ink levels are sufficient. Sometimes, if the ink tanks are not aligned properly or the ink is low, it can lead to printing issues.
  • Clean the contacts of the ink cartridges using a soft, lint-free cloth if you notice any ink build-up.

Adjust Print Settings:

  • Try printing at a lower resolution or quality (e.g., draft or economy mode) to see if it affects the issue. High print quality settings may sometimes cause uneven printing if the printer is struggling with the print job.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a hard reset of the printer:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
    3. Try printing again to see if the issue persists.

Check the Printer's Alignment and Calibration Again:

  • Since the alignment doesn't seem to have fully fixed the problem, run it again, making sure to follow any on-screen instructions carefully. You can also try running an "HP Print and Scan Doctor" tool to troubleshoot. HP Print and Scan Doctor

Try Another USB Port:

  • If the printer is connected via USB, try using a different USB port on your computer, preferably directly on the PC and not through a USB hub.

Check Printer Driver:

  • Sometimes, issues like this could be due to outdated or corrupted drivers. Uninstall and reinstall the printer driver on your computer to ensure it’s up to date and working properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
