I installed the black ink cartridge and now the HP Instant Ink Cartridge Message will not clear and I cannot get to the Home Page

I have pulled all the cartridges out and no fix

I have unplugged the printer for more than 30 seconds but no fix

I see other recommendations to do a reset - How do I do that so this clears?

Hi @Fred557,

I'd like to help!

To assist better -

Could you share the exact error message?

Meanwhile, try the below suggestions-

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Keep me posted.

Hi @Jay_G24,

There was no error message just the "Cartridge changed message".  I did try the power solution you mentioned below but that did not work.  However, I found that the laptop app once I cleared the message from there, it allowed the message on the printer to clear.  So, there appears to be connectivity between the apps and the printer controlling what I see.  In any case, all cleared.

Thanks

I got the same message but after changing the yellow cartridge. The message wouldn’t go away and is blocking the whole home UI.
please help how to clear the message.

I also have an 9010 printer and this message does not go away after installing new ink.

I am on the latest firmware.

I tried resetting the printer multiple times.

Please help fix this.

I have had the same issues after replacing all the colour cartridges.  Firmware is up to date, tried the power reset, and I checked the app on my phone and computer.  I can't seem to find a way to clear the message.  Please help.

Please note that this is not an error message.  It is a thank you for installing instant ink cartridge and now it won't clear

Found it! In the HP Smart app, click "Printer Status" in the menu on the left side. When I clicked that, it showed the same message in the app that was displayed on the printer. When I clicked OK on the message in the app, it cleared it in both the app and on the printer.

I used the app on my laptop. I don't have it installed on my phone. So IDK if it would work the same way.
