Hi @RickSCarolina,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand you are having issues with your printer no longer correctly printing envelopes.

If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdn is not printing envelopes correctly from the bypass tray, you can troubleshoot and adjust settings to resolve this issue. Here’s how you can proceed:

1. Verify Envelope Settings

  1. Paper Size and Type Settings:
    • Make sure the bypass tray is set to recognize envelopes correctly. Check the paper size settings in both the printer’s control panel and the print settings on your computer.
    • Set the correct paper type to "Envelope" in both places to ensure the printer handles envelopes properly.

2. Adjust Paper Guides

  1. Adjust Paper Guides:
    • Ensure that the paper guides in the bypass tray are properly adjusted to fit the size of the envelopes you are using. Improperly set guides can cause misfeeds or incorrect printing alignment.

3. Clean or Replace Rollers

  1. Clean Rollers:
    • Dust or debris on the rollers can cause feeding issues. Clean the rollers inside the bypass tray area with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water.
    • If the rollers are worn out, consider replacing them to ensure smooth feeding of envelopes.

4. Check Printer Firmware

  1. Update Firmware:
    • Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates available for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdn printer. Firmware updates can address bugs and improve the printer's performance, including envelope handling.

5. Use Correct Print Settings

  1. Printer Settings:
    • When printing envelopes, ensure that you select the correct paper source (bypass tray) and paper size/type (envelope) in the print settings on your computer.
    • Verify that the orientation settings (landscape or portrait) match the envelope orientation.

6. Test Print

  1. Print Test Page:
    • Print a test page from the bypass tray with an envelope inserted to check if the settings adjustments have resolved the issue.
    • If the test print is still incorrect, review the settings again and make the necessary adjustments.

If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it may indicate a hardware problem, Contact HP phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
