Hi @Dorlee2
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Thanks for the details, Doris! That “unspecified error” with a stuck print queue is a classic Windows 10 hiccup—but totally fixable.
Let’s walk through a few steps to clear it out and get your HP LaserJet MFP 140 printing smoothly again:
1. Stop the Print Spooler Service
This halts all print jobs temporarily.
- Press Windows + R → type services.msc → press Enter.
- Scroll down to Print Spooler → right-click → Stop.
2. Delete Stuck Print Jobs
- Press Windows + R again → type:%windir%\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Press Enter. If prompted, click Continue.
- Delete all files in this folder (don’t delete the folder itself).
3. Restart the Print Spooler
- Go back to the Services window.
- Right-click Print Spooler → Start.
4. Run HP Smart’s Diagnose & Fix Tool
- Download the HP Smart app.
- Open it → click Printer Settings → Diagnose & Fix.
- Let it scan and repair any issues automatically.
5. Reinstall the Printer
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Remove the HP LaserJet MFP 140.
- Restart your PC.
- Re-add the printer via Wi-Fi or USB.
Let me know how far you get with these steps. If the error persists, I can help check driver conflicts or walk you through a clean reinstall.
We’ll get that queue unstuck and your printer back in action! 🖨️💪
If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
