Hello my printer Laser Jet Pro MFP M126nw shows idle status (after instaling it to computer). I have newest drivers, firmware and it can work as scanner. Self test page can be printed but that is all. Test page in Windows is not printed and even the printed document does not show in the queue. The problem is occured in both connectuon - USB and Wi-fi. Any advice or help? Thanks.

Hi @Macish,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing issues with your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw printer not printing documents from your computer, even though it can perform a self-test and work as a scanner. This can be frustrating, but there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue. Let's go through them.
Check Physical Connections:
- If you are using a USB connection, ensure that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
- If you are using a Wi-Fi connection, make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on. This can help reset the printer's internal settings.
Restart Your Computer:
- Sometimes, a simple computer restart can resolve printing issues.
Check Printer Queue:
- Open the printer queue on your computer to see if there are any pending print jobs. If there are, try canceling them and then reattempt printing a test page.
Printer as Default:
- Ensure that your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw is set as the default printer on your computer.
Driver Reinstallation:
- Uninstall the printer driver from your computer and then reinstall it. Make sure you are using the correct driver for your printer model.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Sometimes, other software or security programs can interfere with printing. Temporarily disable any firewall or security software and try printing again.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Use the built-in Windows Troubleshooter for printers. Go to "Settings" > "Devices" > "Printers & scanners," and then select "Run the troubleshooter."
Firmware Update:
- Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You mentioned that you have the newest firmware, but double-check if any updates are available from the HP website.
Check for Error Codes:
- Look for any error codes or messages on the printer's display panel. These can provide clues about what might be wrong.
Paper and Ink/Toner:
- Ensure that there is enough paper in the tray, and the ink or toner cartridges are not empty or expired.
Test with Another Device:
- If possible, try printing from another computer or device to see if the issue is specific to one device.
Factory Reset (as a last resort):
- If none of the above steps work, consider performing a factory reset on your printer. Refer to the printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
