Hi @nazand ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP LaserJet MFP M140we printer's power light is blinking endlessly, it generally indicates that the printer is experiencing an error or is in a state that needs attention. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

Turn Off the Printer:

  • Press the power button to turn off the printer.

Unplug the Power Cord:

  • Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.

Wait for 60 Seconds:

  • Allow the printer to sit unplugged for about a minute to reset the printer’s internal memory.

Reconnect the Power Cord:

  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet, and then turn on the printer.

2. Check for Paper Jams

Open All Access Doors:

  • Check the input tray, output tray, and any other accessible areas for jammed paper or debris.

Clear Any Jams:

  • If you find any paper jams, carefully remove them, ensuring there are no torn pieces left inside.

Reassemble and Close All Doors:

  • Close all doors and trays securely to ensure proper alignment.

3. Check Cartridge and Paper Settings

Reinstall Toner Cartridge:

  • Open the toner access door and remove the toner cartridge. Reinsert it properly, making sure it clicks into place.

Check Paper Load:

  • Ensure that paper is loaded correctly in the input tray and that it's not overloaded or misaligned.

Verify Paper Size and Type Settings:

  • Make sure that the paper size and type settings in the printer's menu match the paper loaded in the tray.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

Visit the HP Support Website:

  • Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.

Download and Install Updates:

  • Check for any available firmware updates and install them to ensure your printer is running the latest software.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @nazand,

Please find the remaining steps below.

5. Reset the Printer

  1. Factory Reset:
    • To perform a factory reset, you may need to access the printer's settings menu. If the settings are accessible, look for a reset option or consult the user manual for specific instructions.

6. Check Network Connection (if applicable)

Verify Network Status:

  • If your printer is connected to a network, ensure the network connection is stable. You can print a network configuration page to check the status.

Reconfigure Wireless Settings:

  • If the printer is not properly connected to Wi-Fi, reconnect it using the wireless setup wizard.

7. Perform a Hard Reset

Disconnect All Cables:

  • Disconnect any USB, Ethernet, or fax cables connected to the printer.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

8. Inspect for Hardware Issues

Listen for Unusual Noises:

  • When you turn on the printer, listen for any unusual noises that may indicate a hardware problem.

Check for Physical Damage:

  • Inspect the printer for any visible damage that could be causing the issue.

By following these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the cause of the endlessly blinking power light on your HP LaserJet MFP M140we printer. If the issue persists despite trying these troubleshooting methods, consider contacting HP Support for further assistance as this could be a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Elohi_NR!

Thank you for your detailed answer!

Could you to clear for me the following:

1. Factory reset. "To perform a factory reset, you may need to access the printer's settings menu"

What does the printer's settings menu? Where should I find it?

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer

Do you mean that I have to unplug the power cord when the printer is turned on? Really?

3. Could you advise me how can I contacting HP Support?

Thank you,

nazand
