I have a HP LaserJet MFP M232-M237 which is getting a flashing amber light & error codes 79 & 49. I have reset or restarted it multiple times, but the error keeps coming back. Twice yesterday I was printing a document & the error occurred while printing, abruptly stopping the print job. There are no references to these error codes within the troubleshooting section of the manual. HP Smart will either say that the printer is offline or that no problems are found. This problem also prevented the scanner from working. I need the printer to work.

Hi @R_J_Y,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are getting 79 and 49 Service Error on your HP LaserJet MFP M232-M237 printer.
Please follow the steps listed below for 79 and 49 Service Error:
1. Disconnect the printer from the network.
If on wired network: Unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the printer.
If on wireless network: Power off the router.
2. Turn off the printer and wait for 30 seconds. Turn on the printer, if printer is in ready state.
3. Disable the IPv6 feature from the front panel by clicking Setup -> Network Setup -> Network Services -> IPv6, and then set to Off.
4. Connect the printer back to the network again and send a print job via network.
If the issue still persists, then I suggest that you contact HP Service Center in your location from this weblink: https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/service-center
Note: Select your country from the dropdown, enter the city or postal code, select the product, change the radius, and click on search to locate the nearest HP Service center near your location.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a nice day ahead.
