HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw has an amber blinking exclamation point and doesn't have paper jam or any other obvious issues. What does the amber blinking exclamation point means on this printer model?

Hi @PAGUI,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The amber blinking exclamation point on the HP LaserJet MFP M234sdw typically indicates a printer error or issue that needs attention. Since there is no paper jam or obvious problem, here are a few common causes.

  • Out of Paper: Check the paper tray to make sure there is paper loaded correctly. Sometimes, the sensor may not detect paper, even if it's there.
  • Low or Empty Toner: The toner cartridge might be low or empty. Check the toner levels and replace the cartridge if necessary.
  • Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the toner cartridge is properly installed. If it's not seated correctly, it can trigger this warning.
  • Printer Door Open: Ensure that all doors, including the front door and any other compartments, are securely closed.
  • Network Connectivity Issue: If your printer is connected to a network, a connectivity issue could also cause the printer to show an error. Check the network connection.

You can try resetting the printer by turning it off, waiting a few moments, and then turning it back on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
