1. I tried print from anywhere for double sided printing with flip on long side edge as option.
But it printed with flip on short side.
2. I printed locally through Wi-Fi from Adobe for double sided printing.
But it printed one sided.

Hi @Shankar74
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing issues with double-sided printing on your HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2606sdw printer, including incorrect page orientation and failure to print on both sides when printing locally. Here are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Driver Settings for Double-Sided Printing
Ensure the printer driver supports double-sided printing: Sometimes, the local driver settings might not have the correct option selected.
- Windows:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP LaserJet Tank MFP 2606sdw printer and select Printing Preferences.
- In the Printing Preferences window, go to the Finishing tab and make sure that Print on Both Sides (Duplex) is selected.
- Check the Flip on Long Edge option if you want the pages to flip like a book (default for most documents).
- Click Apply and then OK.
Mac:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click Options & Supplies > Options.
- Ensure that Duplex Printing or Two-Sided Printing is enabled in the settings.
Adobe Acrobat (PDF printing):
- When printing from Adobe Acrobat, make sure to select the Two-Sided option:
- In the print dialog, under Page Sizing & Handling, select Multiple.
- Choose 2-sided or Duplex printing.
- Select Flip on Long Edge for the proper orientation.
2. Adjust Orientation in Print Settings
- Flip on Long Edge vs. Short Edge:
- For portrait-oriented documents, choose Flip on Long Edge for proper duplex printing (this will allow pages to flip like a book).
- For landscape-oriented documents, choose Flip on Short Edge (pages will flip like a calendar).
- Check your print settings: If you're getting a flipped result, it might be because you’ve selected the wrong edge option. Double-check your settings when selecting Duplex Printing.
3. Check Wi-Fi or Wireless Printing Settings
- Wi-Fi Printing: If you are printing from a network or through Wi-Fi and facing issues with double-sided printing, ensure that the settings are correctly configured in both the print dialog and the printer preferences.
- Sometimes, wireless printing may default to single-sided printing based on the connection or communication error between the device and the printer.
- Reset the printer connection by turning off Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device, then turning it back on and reattempting the print job.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
