After updating to Mac OS Sonoma, my HP Laserjet Pro M201DW is stuck on pause. I have reset the printer in system preferences and added it back in. I have unplugged and restarted the printer multiple times and restarted my computer. I've tried installing the latest printer Driver but it still won't print, begins connecting but then defaults to pause. Is there any way I can fix this issue or do I just need to buy a different printer. It's clearly seems to be an HP issue based on what I've read and other threads. Thank you!

Hi @Nola_mama83,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet Pro M201dw working again with macOS Sonoma:
Remove and Re-add the Printer:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the printer from the list by selecting it and clicking the - button.
- Restart your computer.
- Add the printer again by clicking the + button and selecting your printer from the list.
Reset the Printing System:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select Reset printing system.
- Confirm the reset, then restart your Mac and try adding the printer again.
Reinstall the Printer Driver:
- Go to the HP Support website and search for the latest driver for your HP LaserJet Pro M201dw compatible with macOS Sonoma.
- Download and install the driver.
- After installation, go back to Printers & Scanners and re-add the printer.
Use AirPrint:
- If the HP driver isn’t working, try using AirPrint. Make sure your printer is connected to the same network as your Mac.
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and select the printer. Check if it appears as an AirPrint option.
Check Printer Queue:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and open the print queue.
- If there are any paused or stuck jobs, clear them and try printing a test page.
Update macOS:
- Sometimes, macOS updates can address compatibility issues with printers. Make sure you have the latest updates installed by going to System Preferences > Software Update.
