Good morning, 1 year ago I purchased the M110WE printer. After changing the toner with an original HP one, after a few sheets the printer started having problems printing (it no longer prints documents). In the HP App it shows the error "The printer cannot print until the problem is resolved".
Tried to reset, uninstall and reinstall it, install it on another PC, use it via USB cable, updated the firmware but nothing... the error remains (orange LED infinitely intermittent, fast).

How can it be solved?

Hi @Giova84P,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Good morning! An intermittent orange LED on your HP M110WE printer typically indicates a problem that needs addressing. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Identify the Error Code

The blinking pattern of the orange LED can sometimes indicate specific error codes. The pattern might consist of a certain number of blinks followed by a pause. Refer to the printer’s manual or HP’s support site for details on what the specific blinking pattern means. This can help narrow down the problem.

2. Check for Paper Jams

Even if you don’t see any obvious jams, paper can sometimes get stuck in hard-to-see areas.

  1. Open All Access Doors:
    • Open the front and rear access doors of the printer.
  2. Inspect for Paper or Debris:
    • Look carefully inside the printer for any bits of paper or foreign objects. Remove any obstructions you find.

3. Verify Toner Installation

If you recently changed the toner, ensure it’s installed correctly.

Turn Off and Unplug the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Open the Toner Access Door:

  • Carefully remove the toner cartridge and check for any protective strips or packaging that may not have been removed.

Reinstall the Toner Cartridge:

  • Reinstall the toner cartridge, ensuring it’s properly seated and securely installed.

Close the Access Door:

  • Close the toner access door firmly.

4. Check Toner Cartridge

Ensure that the toner cartridge is not defective or empty.

  1. Inspect the Toner Cartridge:
    • Make sure it’s not empty or damaged. If you have a spare toner cartridge or a new one, try installing it to see if the issue resolves.

5. Perform a Printer Reset

Power Off the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.

Wait 60 Seconds:

  • Leave the printer unplugged for about a minute.

Plug It Back In and Turn It On:

  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on. Check if the issue persists.

6. Update Printer Firmware

You mentioned that you’ve already updated the firmware, but ensure that you’re using the latest version.

  1. Check for Firmware Updates Again:
    • Go to the HP Support website and verify that you have the most recent firmware for your model.

7. Check Printer Settings and Connections

Ensure Proper Connectivity:

  • If using a USB connection, ensure that the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • If using a network connection, verify that the printer is properly connected to your network.

Print a Test Page:

  • Attempt to print a test page from the printer’s control panel or using the HP Smart app.

8. Perform Printer Self-Diagnostics

Some HP printers have a self-diagnostic feature.

Access Printer’s Control Panel:

  • Use the control panel to navigate to diagnostic options if available.

Run Diagnostics or Self-Test:

  • Follow the prompts to perform a diagnostic test or self-test.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

thank you for your reply. I had already done everything you indicated, even updated the firmware, but nothing.

The LED continues to light up intermittently, without any pause as in the error code patterns. It goes on forever.

If I then press the button next to the LED only once, the printer prints a sheet that says: the printer cannot print until the problem is solved.

No documents, no test pages... i cannot print nothing from pc or smartphone... just error report using X button near orange led.

tried both via wifi and via USB cable, but nothing.
