Hi

I have HP LaserJet M477fdw which won’t start.

I have had an issue with the printer that kept jamming the paper. It was starting perfect, no issues at all. I mentioned that paper kept jamming somewhere in the fuser area. I followed simple video steps from Youtube how to remove the fuser (just few screws on the back and disconnect cables).

I removed fuser and paper was rolled around the pink roller. I removed the paper (while never dismantling any other parts of the fuser unit) and installed the fuser back (connected all cables) and now printer doesn’t start.

The fuser motor RM2-7349 starts spinning for few seconds then stops and nothing happens after that.

I don’t understand what is wrong as I haven’t done anything special, just disconnected cables, removed paper and connected cables back after that (I matched them right as I photographed before).

Any ideas what it might be, why and potential solutions?

I will try to attach pictures/video to this post

I will upload the videos to Youture and share the link here as seems like videos can’t be uploaded here.

It is always possible that a static discharge damaged the board, or a connector was bent in the process of taking apart or reassembling.

Hi

Thank you for your reply.

Can you please describe which part exactly you are referring to? Maybe I can have a look if its bend.

Is there any other thoughts why it might be like this?

I am thinking of the board on the left side which had six or seven connections that you have to unplug to remove the fuser. Remove each connection and examine the pins to make sure none are bent.

Hi

I checked all pins and connectors and they all look fine. The printer still not turn on. I also tried to disconnect the fuser and turn it on without the fuser but still no luck.

Anything else I can try to check?

Hi

I pushed fuser unit a little bit further, screwed some bolts so they can hold the unit and closed back and front doors. So now it sounds like printer starting, all motors spinning, fans etc but there is nothing on the LCD display, and motors spins for about 5min, printer probably realise that the system not starting and turns off.

Also, while I was installing the fuser back some of the parts fall off. Where they should go and how to connect them properly? They seems small but I believe might have a huge importance.

Resolved the problem now.

Turns out that the display cable wasn’t connected properly.
