HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4301fdw Printer

I have 2 of these HP MFP 4301 FDW do the same thing.

The touch screen freezes and when it comes back up, it's an automatic F0.01.01.02 Error.

Since it's the 2nd printer (2nd one, one day out of the box) I'd say that is a problem with the series.

my first printer eventually froze that it will the error will not clear, and the Part (formatter Board is on forever backorder)

There is a problem with the power save / wake up / sleep function.

Anyone have a workaround for this?

Service documentation states that this error is most likely due to a firmware issue and you should update the firmware to the latest revision.

I did the check for firmware update, it's at the latest version.

The only changes i did to the system, is change the timeout to max, for sleep and the touch screen,

The network is hardwire DHCP.

Can you post the version of firmware that is currently installed please. I have found that in some cases what is pushed through auto download is different from what is posted for manual download from the website. Am curious if that is the case here.

i was looking at the event log, i see a lot of F0.01.04.0C errors, i checked my driver, the driver on the pc says HP universal.

Does the above error indicate a future problem?

there is a lot of them.

i did this firmware update, so far, good, no more F0 warnings a few F0 errors, but not at the frequency i had this morning.

i'll keep checking the log as the day goes by.

Thank you Very much.

I will chime in here on this printer model (MFP 4301)

Had the F0 error after changing a 201A black to a new 201X black.

Problem would not go away until I did BOTH of the following:

- Updated to latest firmware 6.17.0.1700-202310210015

- Performed factory reset

Will also point out that network scanning/quick sets seems to be broken in this latest FW release, 6.17.0.1700-202310210015  as quicksets no longer appear on the home menu, and scanning preset seems to get very confused with the "Custom vs  NONE, vs "DateXXXX" prefix/suffix and never lets the user scan.

Note: I am an HP Reseller, and this is not my first rodeo.

the problem is that it doesn't matter what we do, it always boot into the F0 error, either the F0.01.01.02 or F0.01.01.04.

Getting into the preboot screen won't work, i had to argue with the buyer to have it returned and we have a new one now. i did the firmware update as per support because the new 4301 was giving the same error but at least it'll clear on a reboot.

So far, the new printer works well, i've seen  few of the F0 error when i send a print job and the printer is sleeping.
