I have an Laserjet Enterprise Flow MFP M527 at work that is out of warranty. Printer says it has error 99.09.62 disk error and I am trying to use the preboot menu to reinstall the firmware but it keeps erroring out. I did not change out or messed with the disk in any way, I came into work one day and it was already in the preboot menu with the error code. I have the latest firmware update on the USB but when I try downloading it, it errors out right away. I don't really know what else to do as I cant find much help for this issue.

Failed hard drive most likely. If you open the cover for the formatter you will most likely find a Toshiba hard drive and their reliability has been poor. You want to replace it with part number L41606-011. This will be a Seagate drive. You can install any Self encrypting hard drive but it must be a physical drive. The controller in the unit will not support an SSD drive.

Did you follow the required steps to mate the drive to the formatter? Watch this video https://youtu.be/qeWM7s8K_Xc
