I have an OfficeJet Pro 8630 that is displaying "Printer Failure". I've tried resetting it multiple times, but it doesn't work. I want to contact HP for help, but when I enter the serial number it says the serial number 'isn't valid' (despite me being 100% sure it's the correct number). How can I get in touch with HP for help when it won't recognize my serial number?

Meanwhile, If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 is displaying a "Printer Failure" message, you can follow these steps to try and resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the printer on.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date by checking for updates through the printer software or drivers on your computer.

Check for Cartridge Issues:

  • Open the cartridge access door and check for any blinking lights or error codes related to the ink cartridges.
  • Ensure that genuine HP cartridges are installed. Replace any low, defective, or non-HP cartridges with new ones.

Print Quality Diagnostic Page:

  • Load plain white paper into the input tray.
  • On the printer control panel, select 'Setup', then 'Print Reports', and choose 'Print Quality Report'.
  • Examine the print quality report for any issues that may point to what is causing the printer failure.

Align Printhead:

  • You can align the printhead from the printer control panel by selecting ‘Setup’ > ‘Tools’ > ‘Align Printhead’.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
