Everytime I print something the print content comes out on the page at an angle to the edge of the page. (rather than being aligned with the edge of the page). Please can you help.

How many pages have you printed with the black ink blotches?
The printer's automatic servicing routine should clear up this problem.

thank you.Ive done a 'printer alignment' and 'clean print heads' routine but it hasnt solved the problem yet. Blank ink (in smaller volume) is still blotting the papers edge. The device is an hp officejetpro 8600plus

Take a look at this link on how to remove the printhead. (solution 3#)
Make sure that there is no ink on the body around the nozzles.
