Hi, just to add on. For any hardware part newly installed to the printer, you can just do a simple "power off and power on" after you installed the new Hardware part. For example, you installed a new tray- tray2.
Please click on the kudos star on the right bottom corner if you think my comment helps.

Hi All
This is an alternative solution for my earlier post on tray 2 not detected.
Please follow the steps below
1. Press "Start" and go to "Devices and Printers" on your PC
2. Right click your printer that wanted to detect the tray 2
3. Select "Printer Properties"
4. Select "Device Setting"
Press on "Update Now" and click "Apply"
Your printer could be detected by then.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear that you are having the tray detection issue.
Are you able to see the Tray 2 selection option from the printer display control panel?
If, so the mechancal detection is working. Then it is the SW settings that we need to work on.
If you are unable to see the Tray 2 selection from the printer Display Control Panel,
Then check the following:
The tray detection mechanism requires that the printer to be stacked on top of the tray 2 properly so that the contact aligns and a signal is able to pass through the contact pins.
I suggest that you remove the printer and check if the contact pins are damaged or bent.
Although I am an HP Employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
