My printer throws out multiple pages after every print job with the following wording at the top:
Content-Length: 179
Content- Type: aaplication/ipp
HOST:localhost
Does anybody know how to rectify this?

Hi @KirstyB19,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
We understand how disruptive it can be when your HP OfficeJet 8012 All-in-One Printer starts printing multiple pages with strange technical headers like:
Content-Length: 179
Content-Type: application/ipp
HOST: localhost
This issue typically occurs when the printer is connected via USB and the system is sending raw IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) data directly to the printer, often due to a misconfigured or incomplete driver installation.
Here’s How to Fix It
Step 1: Disconnect the USB and Reinstall the Proper Drivers
- Disconnect the USB cable from your printer.
- Go to the HP OfficeJet 8012 All-in-One Printer | HP® Support.
- Download and run HP Easy Start or the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
- During installation, only reconnect the USB cable when prompted.
- Complete the setup and restart your computer.
Step 2: Remove Old Printer Entries
- On your Windows PC, go to Settings → Devices → Printers & Scanners.
- Remove any duplicate or old entries for your HP OfficeJet 8012.
- Restart your PC and confirm only one correct printer entry remains.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
