Hi @KirstyB19,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how disruptive it can be when your HP OfficeJet 8012 All-in-One Printer starts printing multiple pages with strange technical headers like:

Content-Length: 179
Content-Type: application/ipp
HOST: localhost

This issue typically occurs when the printer is connected via USB and the system is sending raw IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) data directly to the printer, often due to a misconfigured or incomplete driver installation.

Here’s How to Fix It

Step 1: Disconnect the USB and Reinstall the Proper Drivers

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from your printer.
  2. Go to the HP OfficeJet 8012 All-in-One Printer | HP® Support.
  3. Download and run HP Easy Start or the Full Feature Software and Drivers.
  4. During installation, only reconnect the USB cable when prompted.
  5. Complete the setup and restart your computer.

Step 2: Remove Old Printer Entries

  1. On your Windows PC, go to SettingsDevicesPrinters & Scanners.
  2. Remove any duplicate or old entries for your HP OfficeJet 8012.
  3. Restart your PC and confirm only one correct printer entry remains.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
