HP Office Jet Pro 6830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Office Jet Pro 6830,  7121 Pages in and a dead printhead

So today the printer, instead of printing the report and safety critical programms and permits needed for the mornings activities decoded to become a desktop ornament!

The machine, having only printed a mere 7121 pages since new no longer prints 'Cyan' It has been on the HP Instnt Ink programme thing since purchase back in Feb 2016.

In respect to the fault I have done the following...

1. Cleaned the printheads using all three printhead cleaning stages. No improvement.

2. Replaced the cartridges with new ones. No improvement.

3. Repeated ser 1 following the cartridge replacement. No improvement.

According to the automatic help thing, the warranty ran out on the 31 Jan 2017. I could have sworn that I registered it for the 3 year extended warranty at the same time that I setup the instant ink account.

Anyone got any ideas to try getting it going?  Short of buying an Epsom Printer of course....

Further research indicates that this line of printer had sever problems with a faulty batch of printheads being installed during production, can anyone confirm that please?

I doubt you will have someone here to confirm you about a faulty batch of printheads installed in any device, but if you search this forum for your printer model you will figure out that you are not alone with this problem.

It's time for a new printer with a 3 year warranty.

Thanks for the quick reply, I fear that I will be buying another printer in the morning.
