Hiya!

I have a HP Office Jet Pro and I'm struggling to find out how thick of a paper the printer can handle.

From what I've read, 180 GSM is the maximum paper it'll take, yet I've successfully printed onto sticker sheets that are 200 GSM.

I wish to find out because I'm looking into printing my own double sided Business cards, and printing them onto some recycled card that's 320 GSM.

Obviously if the printer can't handle that then I will have to find an alternative, but I am just reaching out to try and see how thick of paper the printer can handle!

Thanks - Brooke

Hi Brooke,

Generally Your printer specifications suggest a maximum of 180 gsm indeed, this is the maximum thickness suggested by the manufacturer for optimal performance and a maximum product lifecycle.

As you stated you been able to print on a slightly thicker media however a such cannot be guaranteed and may affect the paper path, etc.

Additionally be aware that double sided printing is supported on Plain media only, your printer will likely won’t be able to handle such an heavier media and surely not perform duplex printing on a such.

Cheers,

Shlomi
