I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8020 series printer, that came up with a "door open" warning and I cannot print. I check the doors and lids, and all is seating and closed properly. I turned off, unplugged, waited a few minutes, and turned back on and the issue is still present. What is a possible fix for this issue.

Hi @John-9031,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020 series printer is displaying a "door open" warning and you're unable to print, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check all doors and compartments: Ensure that all doors, trays, and compartments of the printer are securely closed. Open and close them again to ensure they are properly latched.
- Restart the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the back, and wait for about 30 seconds. Then, plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer. This can sometimes resolve minor glitches.
- Check for any obstructions: Inspect the printer's interior for any jammed paper, foreign objects, or debris that might be triggering the "door open" warning. Remove any obstructions carefully.
- Reset the printer: Some printers have a reset function that can help resolve certain issues. Locate the reset button on your printer (usually a small hole) or refer to the user manual for instructions on performing a reset. Use a paperclip or a pointed object to press and hold the reset button for a few seconds.
- Update firmware and drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the official HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware and driver updates. Install them following the provided instructions.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
