I can select a time for AUTO OFF but cannot find out how to disable this feature. I would like the printer to remain on and ready to print

Hi! @boulderbean, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand that you need to know how to disable auto-off on your printer.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Please try the steps recommended below.
1. Connect the printer to your computer if they are disconnected.
2. Launch the printer software installed on your computer.
3. From the software, click Print on the toolbar and select Maintain Your Printer.
A toolbox window opens.
4. From the Advanced Settings tab, select Change for the Auto-off option.
5. From the time period list, select one for $uto-2ff inactivity time and then click OK.
6. Click Yes when prompted.Auto-off is enabled.
Refer the user guide for more information.
Let me know if this works!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Thanks for the reply but I am not sure this answer is what I am looking for.
I do not want Auto Off to function, I want to disable Auto Off so the printer stays connected to the network and I can print at any time.
Currently after the time period times out I have to go to the printer and press the ON button, the printer boots up and then I can print.
So, the question is:
Is there a way to DISABLE the Auto Off function?
Thanks

@boulderbean, Thanks for your response and time.
I appreciate your efforts in trying out the steps.
There is no way to keep the printer awake all the times. However, you can assign a static IP to your printer so your will wake when a print job is sent.
Please try the steps mentioned below to assign static IP to your printer.
· Obtain the IP address of the printer (which can found by pressing the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel)
· Enter the IP address on the web browser (Ex: chrome, IE) to enter the printer EWS page.
· Go to the “Network” tab, click on “Wireless (802.11) then click on “Network address (IPV4)
· Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
· Click on the radio button which says “Manual DNS server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Hope this helps.
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

I am at HP expert day and I am glad to help.
Auto off has dependency on your connections so you may need to confirm your connections first to disable it.
Here is the specifications from User Guide of HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile ALL-in-one.
