HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer

My HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile all-in-one printer screen comes on, but it does not show anything. I cannot see how to print, copy or scan. or anything. I can print from the computer, phone or anything like that, but that is it. Can anyone tell me what to do? or Someone send me pictures of the screen to show me where to tap on the screen to scan or copy?

Thank you Kuroi_Kenshi, But I had already tried all that you suggested before I even asked for help. The screen is on, it just does not show anything. Maybe I did not explain that correctly, sorry. I am really needing pictures of the screen. I can touch the screen and make copy if I know where to touch. Hope that makes sense.

Hi @LaFoy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about 60 seconds, then reconnect and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the printer display.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates on the HP website or through the HP Smart app. Updating firmware can often resolve software-related issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet. Turn on the printer.

Examine the Display Cable Connection:

  • If you are comfortable doing so and your warranty allows it, check the internal connections to ensure the display cable is properly connected.

Factory Reset:

  • If the printer's touch functionality is intact, try performing a factory reset. Refer to the user manual for instructions specific to your model.

I hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you for clarifying, yes, that absolutely makes sense now.

Since your HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile’s screen is backlit but not displaying any visuals, yet touch still works, it sounds like the LCD has failed but the digitizer (touch input) is still functional. That’s why you’re able to make a copy if you tap the right spot, you just can’t see where you’re tapping.

I’ll help you with that. Below is a general guide to help you navigate the screen by touch alone:

Touch Navigation Guide (for Copy/Scan from Home Screen)

Assuming the screen is powered on and you are at the home screen:

Place your finger on the middle of the screen, this is usually where the "Copy" option appears.

Tap gently once.

If nothing happens, try slightly lower, about 1–2 cm from the center; that’s typically where “Scan” is.

After tapping “Copy,” the copy screen usually loads with two buttons:

Black & White Copy (left side)

Color Copy (right side)

So, if you want to copy in black & white:

Tap the middle of the screen.

Wait 2–3 seconds.

Tap the left side of the screen.

For color copy:

Follow the same, but tap the right side instead.

I hope this helps.
