I've completed this process, and still can't print in color. B&W works fine.

Thank you for this solution!!! I was getting ready to send my printer to the recycle bin because I tried EVERYTHING and I simply couldn't get it to print in color. This worked!

I'm having this issue and have tried every solution listed in EVERY forum on here. Please help I am becoming increasingly frustrated and have wasted 5 hours and 20+ pages trying to follow your guidance to no avail. My printer prints b&w absolutely fine, there is no printer preference that allows me to select color, even when the print screen indicated COLOR it does not print in color.

I've been chasing this problem for six months.  I conclude that HP has no intention whatsoever to actually FIX the problem.  It appears that it is related to HP software, they tell me to delete it which Windows 10 won't let me do,  Our 3830 is off to the e-recycle, even though it's brand new, and we'll get another printer ... anything but HP.  What a massive fall for a company that was once the standard setter in electronic equipment.

 

And, after posting this their robot will ask me if this answers my question. [:=)
