Hello

My officejet 4630 is showing "REFLASH 12345". I read previous posts on this issue, and I didnt manage to fix it. I understand I need to reinstall the firmware. I have connected the printer to my laptop with USB. I  have installed on my laptop the firware update utility from HP website BUT my laptop  doesnt recognize the printer (it doesnt see it connected via USB). Therefore I cannot install the firmware. I was thinking that I could perform a hard resert, but couldnt find the right way to do it. Please help

Hi @Jpiaia,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet 4630 shows error message "REFLASH 12345"  Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

Let's perform a power drain:

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove the USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Update the printer firmware

Hi - thanks for replying to my question - I followed precisely your recommendation. Unfortunately, the "reflash 12345" is back, immediately after the power is back on (it doesnt look that the firmware is even trying to start). Is there anything esle I should do?
