Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Recently moved printer (powered off) to do cleaning on the floor.

Printer started to connect then got error code OXB800038.  will not power up at all.

Powered it down, got error code again. Disconnected from wall, took away the power strip, etc.

Even tried another power code but no luck.

Thoughts?

Hi @Rose193 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 4635 printer is not powering up after encountering an error code (OXB800038), you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Verify Power Source:

  • Ensure that the power outlet you are using is functional. Try plugging another device into the same outlet to confirm.

Reset the Printer:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn the printer on.

Direct Power Connection:

  • Avoid using power strips or surge protectors. Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet to eliminate potential power issues from the power strip.

Check Power Cable:

  • Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and the power outlet.

Inspect for Physical Damage:

  • Check the power cable and the printer's power port for any physical damage. If damaged, consider replacing the power cable.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the official HP website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If so, install the updates HP Support website

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
