My printer has suddenly decided that (from my computer) it cannot be printed to. Oh, but my phone will print to it, so it doesnt seem to be the printer itself.
In the printers & scanners option there is an error that says "driver is unavailable. To try and rectify this, I have:
- Restarted my printer, multple times.
- Completely uninstalled the printer, multiple times.
- Tried to reinstall through HP Smart
- Tried to reinstall through Printers & Scanners
- Updated my laptop.
- Downloaded Print/Scan Doctor and run it (it cannot even find my printer!)
- Tried to Update the printer
- Repeated this in varying combinations.
HP Smart can see my printer, but cannot install it.
HP Print/Scan Doctor cannot een find my printer.
My phone will print to the printer (not a viable option for most of my work).
I don't know what to do, but this is incredibly frustrating. I need my printer for school. Please advise.

Hi @Kiraiya.
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are seeing a "Driver Unavailable" message when attempting to use your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer, it means that the computer or device you are trying to print from does not have the necessary software drivers installed to communicate with the printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Restart both the printer and the computer you are trying to print from.
- Check to make sure that the printer is connected to the same network as your computer. If it is not, connect the printer to the same network as your computer.
- Make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your computer via USB cable or wireless network.
- Try reinstalling the printer driver software on your computer. You can download the driver software from the HP website.
- If the printer is connected to a USB port, try connecting it to a different USB port on your computer.
- Try printing from a different program to see if the issue is with the specific application you are using.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your input @Alden4 , but EVERYTHING you have mentioned I have tried previously. It has done nothing to connect my printer to my computer. I cannot print from any program on my computer as my computer will not even recognize the printer to allow me to select it as the destination printer. Any other ideas?
