Hello, I have an OfficeJet 5255. My printer prints with blank lines. I have tried to clean the cartriges/printhead using the fuction on the machine, manually (using isopropal alcohol to clean the cartridges), and changing the ink and nothing has worked. I've only used hp ink and haven't had my printer for very long. I think the printhead needs cleaning (based on the diagnosis) but am not sure what else to do and would like support or advice.

@Hannah396, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Make sure you are using compatible ink cartridges

Check the estimated ink levels

On the printer control panel, touch the Ink icon  to display the current estimated ink levels. Replace any low or empty ink cartridges.

Clean the ink cartridges

  1. On the printer control panel, swipe left on the display, and then touch Setup .

  2. Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.

The printer prints a Print Quality Diagnostic report.

Also, perform step 13 fom this document.

Let me know how this goes.
