HP OfficeJet 6600

I have an OfficeJet 6600 all-in-one printer that has stopped picking up paper.  You can place one sheet and kind of push it in and it will print then.  Can someone tell me which part I need to replace to get this printer back up and working properly?

Thank you,

Todd

Hi @Todd_M_Foughty,

Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I see that you are having an issue with the printer not feeding the paper from your HP OfficeJet printer. Don't worry as I have a few steps to help you get through this concern,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you checked for any obstructions in the paper path? Use a flashing light to make sure you see any smaller pieces.

Have you check for the paper and tray are pushed into the printer far enough to engage the feed rollers?

Have you tried to print a self-test from the printer?

Let's start by performing a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.

If self-test prints then the problem is most likely with SW drivers, connectivity, application, or special paper type.

If self-test does not print:

  • Is it the roller that is not picking the paper or something is blocking the paper path?
  • Can you hear or see the roller attempting to turn (is it working mechanically)?

Clean the rollers – make sure you clean the pickup rollers and not the rear feed rollers
