@NeedHelp26,

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums.  After reading your post I understand that you cannot print. It will be a delight to assist you here.

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did this happen after a Power outage or surge?
  • Did you replace ink cartridges and check again?
  • Did you make copies directly from the printer and check again?

For now, try these steps:

  • Please perform all the prescribed steps from this link: http://hp.care/2ApK5CK (HP OfficeJet Pro 6900 Printers - Fixing Poor Print Quality)
  • Then make copies directly from the printer without any communication from the computer and check if it works.
  • If still continues, contact HP phone support to replace ink cartridges. It could be faulty. Replacing cartridges should do the trick as long as the printer the printer is not faulty.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2r9wSvP

  • Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
  • Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
  • Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
  • Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.

If it copies correctly and the OS is Windows then uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers by following these steps:

Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post regarding issues with the printer asking for the administrator password and locking you out. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description and stupendous diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

I downloaded the full driver pack for the HP 6978 All In One Printer. The computer is communicating with the printer because it will print a test page. I am using WFI from the printer to the computer. However if I try to print from a word document or anything else except the test page from the computer to the printer nothing happens. If I press print say in word the printer goes through the set up and the printer makes noise like its going to print however it does not print and the que shows 1 print project then it shows 0 and prints nothing. (Windows 10) I had a HP 6500 printer which worked fine as far as from the computer to the printer.
