Good morning!
I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 that is not printing my word documents from my Mac computer. It was working up until recently. I'm not sure if I did an update and that made it stop working.

Please ensure you have all the Apple Software updates installed and also the Microsoft Office is updated. You can follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT201541
Next ensure the printer has the latest Firmware update, Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168
Is the problem only with Word Documents? Are you having issues with all the Word Docs?
Start the Notes app on your Mac, open an existing note or create a new note with some sample text, then click File> Print and see if it will print. If it prints successfully from Notes, that tell us that you have a problem with your installation of Microsoft Office. In that case you may need to uninstall Office from your Mac and then reinstall it.
If you are unable to print from other Apps as well, then delete the printer and reinstall it using Airprint
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint or Secure AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print and let me know how it goes 😊
