Hi @jemia,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 printer is an InkJet printer, not a laser printer. It uses ink cartridges rather than a toner-based system typically found in LaserJet printers. If your inquiry was meant for the OfficeJet Pro 7740, here's some information:

Replacing the Printhead for HP OfficeJet Pro 7740

If you're experiencing issues that might require a printhead replacement, here are the steps to replace it:

Prepare the Printer:

  • Ensure that you have the replacement printhead ready before removing the old one.

Access the Printheads:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to become idle.

Remove Ink Cartridges:

  • Remove all the ink cartridges from the printhead by pressing down to release them.

Replace the Printhead:

  • Lift the latch handle on the printhead assembly.
  • Carefully remove the old printhead.
  • Install the new printhead and ensure it is securely seated.
  • Close the latch handle.

Reinsert Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure the cartridges are correctly installed by gently pushing them into place until they click.

Close the Ink Cartridge Access Door:

  • Once all cartridges are installed and the printhead is secure, close the access door and let the printer perform any necessary alignments or checks.

I hope this helps.
