I am unable to connect my printer to my wireless internet.
I was able to previously while hot spotting wifi to my laptop and the printer. Now we have a permanent wifi with modem set up and the printer is unable to connect. Every other device is able to connect to the wifi except the printer.
The printer can identify the wifi, but when I try to connect it attempts for about 1 minute and then says unable.
The weird thing is the wifi is password protected, but the printer does not prompt me for a password before trying to connect, as it did when I connected it to the hotspot internet.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you

@schruld, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
- Do you have any Anti-virus software installed on your PC?
- How far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
- Make sure the printer and the PC are connected to the same wireless network.
- This printer supports only 2.4GHz network.
- If you have a Dual-band router and both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks share the same name/SSID, the printer will not be able to connect to the network. In this case, contact your Internet service provider to assign different names to both the networks.
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
On the printer screen, go to Setup > Network > Restore network settings
Restart your network devices
- Turn off the Router, Printer, and the computer/ mobile devices.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn on the Router first and wait for all the lights to stabilize.
- Turn on the printer and allow it to configure itself.
- Turn on the computer/ mobile devices.
On the printer screen, Go to Setup > Network > Wireless settings > Wireless setup wizard. Choose your network and put in the password.
Once the printer is connected to the network, the blue wireless light will become steady from blinking.
To install the printer on the PC, Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.
Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
Let me know how this goes.
