HP OfficeJet Pro 8710

Will not let us print in B&W. Ran out of ink on color and B&W so just bought the black cartridge, How do we print with only b&w.

The printhead design on the 8710 will not let you print without all the cartridges being full of ink.

Hi,

I afraid you cannot.

You may set black ink printing to use less color ink on general base but you must have any ink available for printing, once any ink get empty you must replace it to print.

I bought the Hp pro 8710 a few months back and now I find out that I cannot print with black ink only with an empty color cartridge installed. I further find that it uses a little bit of color even when it prints black only so color will be used even if you dont want it just so i will have to replace the cartridges periodically.  There fore,  I am being bribed and swindled into buying the high priced cartridges I do not want.  Not so fast. I m throwing this piece of junk in a dumpster and buying a brand that will give me the versatility I need.  So long HP.
