I am a teacher trying to print labels for school. When I put a sheet of labels in the printer, it just jams. I tried to change the paper type, but there is not one for labels. I am very competent in creating address labels on the computer. This problem has to do with the printer itself. I also looked at the manuel and did not find anything about printing on label paper. Thank you for your help. I hope to get the problem remedied quickly.

Use the Media type for Brochure (matte or glossy depending on your labels).
If no Media type "Brochure", try Presentation.
No Media type "Presentation", try "Cards".
If you run into a problem that the Media type is not supported for your Paper Size, create a Custom Paper Size for the lable sheet. Start with a standard template of the same type to create the Custom Size.

I have the same problem. I tried selecting all of the above paper types on the printer but it refuses to print on Avery 5260 Easy Peel Address Labels. No jamming, just spits it out with no attempt to print. Labels formatted fine and print correctly on regular paper. Which labels DO work with this printer?

I checked at Avery - Avery 5260 is designated for laser printers.
Officejet Pro 8710 is an inkjet printer.
In general, I would guess that this printer - similar in a few ways to its big brother the Officejet 8740 - would print in Avery label sheets rated for inkjet printers, matte finish, standard sheet size (Letter in the USA, A4 elsewhere).
Beyond that, the printer might print Avery labels in odd sheet sizes (assuming they do not violate the Specifications for the printer and custom sizes). The printer might print label sheets that have a glossy finish, though the printer - even if it is able to complete the task - must be clean, supplies stocked and cartridges clean, sheets stored correctly to prevent damage, humidity changes. "Glossy" is just a fussier finish .
Assuming all else is equal, the printer should be able to print at least the standard label sheets provided by Avery and other top rated companies. "All else is equal" is the catch: settings, printer condition, condition of the label sheets.
Clearly, this may not answer your question if Your Printer is not behaving as you believe it should.
You might like to start a new thread of your own - after all, this is a two year old thread - things might be different, another Expert might wish to answer, you can provide more information.
