HP OfficeJet Pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I can't get my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 to print on 110lb cardstock.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and related software.  I have also updated the software on the print itself. Additionally, I have tried setting the printer to "index card" and "plain paper, thick".  None of these options make a difference.  The printer continues to print 1/2 to 3/4 of the page.

Can anyone help me get it to work?

@mucky1217, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Are you able to make copies on the cardstock paper?

If yes, follow the steps below:

Update the printer firmware

HP regularly releases new printer firmware versions with product enhancements or issue fixes. Depending on your printer, apps on the printer control panel might also receive updates. Update firmware and apps on a regular basis to make sure you are getting the most out of your printer. Click here to download and run the update. Refer to this document for more help.

Create a Custom Paper Size

Refer to this document HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes for assistance.

Try printing. If the issue persists, continue troubleshooting.

Install Windows Built-in Printer Driver

Install your HP printer without any software using the drivers built into the Windows operating system. Refer to this link for help.

Try printing.

Let me know the outcome.

Cheers 🙂

I did all of those things and none of them fixed the problem.  I was trying to print on 110lb paper, which is within the printing specs of the printer.  I could only get it to print on much lighter cardstock (65lb).  Even that was a little dicey and a few pages didn't print correctly.
