I am trying to replace an ink cartridge in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8715. However, it keeps telling me that the ink cartridge is depleted (which it is not because it is a new HP ink cartridge). How do i fix this problem?

@holyrope, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Make sure the protective plastic tape if any is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.
Refer to Replacing Ink Cartridges
If the issue persists, try with an alternate ink cartridge if available or try the steps from HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge
