Hi!
I'm trying to change the default tray used for copying on a HP OfficeJet Pro 8740.
On the EWS at Settings -> Copy/Print Settings -> Copy Settings -> Tray Selection
I change "Default Tray" from "Tray 1" to "Tray 2".
After hitting "Apply", the following error message is shown:
An error has occurred. (pgCopyConfig-409)
Click "OK" to go back.
What's wrong here?
Cheers,
Wolfram

Hi @wschlich
Thanks for your feedback.
When you set the Copy settings to Tray 2, it will be for that job only (unless your Default Tray is Tray 2 for Copy)
Here's how you can make your Copy job "permanently" from Tray 2, follow the steps below:
Select the "Setup"
Try copying again, it should "stick" to Tray 2
Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Have you tried using the front panel to change the copy tray settings?
Go to Copy > Settings > Tray Selection.
Also, the following resource may be useful for you:
HP OJP 8740 (Installing and using the 2nd Tray)
Hope that helps!

Hey again,
I was curious, so I unlocked the Front Panel settings using the admin credentials
Then I tried to change the Copy Settings using the Front Panel.
While changing the Copy settings for an individual copy job works, the tray selection is never saved.
Hitting "Save Current Settings" with tray set to Tray 2, going to the Home Screen and going back into the Copy Settings it shows Tray 1 again.
HP, this is a very annoying bug, please fix it!
Cheers,
Wolfram

Hi @wschlich
Can you ensure these 2 steps :
1. Default tray is Tray 2.
2. Copy tray is set to "Default tray".
You can follow the steps shown to configure these settings.
Let us know if it is still "not sticky"
Thanks.

Hi @wschlich
Was Tray 2 "Locked"?
If it was locked, it will always go back to Tray 1.
Can you ensure that the "Tray Lock" settings is set to "None"
Let us know if that works!
